How to start
- Open your AI. Start a new chat in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. No paid plan required.
- Paste the setup. The seven roles come pre-sealed under a SHA-256 hash printed in the card, fixed before anyone speaks.
- Question the village. Interview the characters, cross-check their stories, and narrow down the liar.
- Accuse and verify. Name the liar, then check the revealed setup against the seal to see if you were right.

- How can one AI play seven characters honestly?
- The roles are drawn from a setup sealed at the first turn with a SHA-256 hash. Each of the seven villagers keeps its assigned identity and knowledge for the whole game, so the AI cannot quietly reassign the liar, and you verify the setup at the end.
- What am I trying to do?
- Find the one liar among seven villagers before they mislead the town. You question the AI-played characters, weigh their stories against each other, and make an accusation. The sealed setup then reveals whether you caught the right one.
- Do I need other people to play?
- No. Ambervale is built for a single player against an AI ensemble; the AI voices all seven villagers so the social deduction works solo. You supply the suspicion, and the AI supplies the table full of suspects.
- Does the AI cheat by changing who is lying?
- No. The liar and every role are committed before the first question via a cryptographic seal. The AI plays inside that fixed setup, and after the round you can verify the reveal against the seal to confirm nothing shifted mid-game.
